Switching Modes of DNS Servers
To change the modes of Centralized DNS servers and PleskDNS servers assigned to it, perform these steps:
- Select a mode for the Centralized DNS server from the corresponding drop-down box:
- Master. The DNS server acts as a primary (master) DNS server. All zones (direct and reverse ones) are configured as master (primary) ones on this server. The content of these zones will be controlled by DNSC, or DNS Controller. A slave (secondary) server in this case can be either a PleskDNS server or another Centralized DNS server.
- Slave. The DNS server acts as a secondary (slave) DNS server. All primary zones on this server will be configured to secondary (slave) ones. A master (primary) server in this case can be either a PleskDNS server or another Centralized DNS server.
- Select a mode for the PleskDNS server/servers assigned to this DNS server:
- Click OK to save the settings.
